Descripción
Eyebee® Remote Expert is a reliable, high image quality, low-cost telepresence solution for remote guidance of multiple technical personnel from a central location, using real-time videoconferencing, like Skype and other platforms. This allows relatively inexperienced technicians to work in real time under the guidance of remote experts, located at the main office or even retired personnel collaborating from their home. It may give remote eyes, ears, and speech at the site of an urgent matter or routine but complicated situation, as if you were actually there.
The primary value of eyebee comes from the “swarm or collective intelligence” of people working together in real time to solve a problem, what we call the human hive. A local technician may work hands free while a remote expert guides him or her through a novel situation or complicated repair. The typical mode of operation would be with the smartphone on the forearm as shown in the attached image.
We are also representatives of the XM Reality remote guidance platform, with enhanced Augemented Reality (AR) viewing and visual guidance capabilities. We are also working with a video borescope manufacturer to connect their device to eyebee.
Primary applications of the eyebee Remote Expert are aviation maintenance, remote IT support and repair, viewing of surgical procedures from the Point of View of the surgeon, video concierge shopping, guidance of blind people by remote volunteers, virtual tourism, among others.
The eyebee Remote Expert consists of a HD 30 fps miniature barrel web cam with secure head mount support and clip wired to a specially software modified Motorola Android Smartphone, for US$ 995 plus tax, with availability 2nd quarter 2017.
“eyebee® Remote Expert (www.eyebee.tv), is a simple, reliable, high image quality (HD at 30 fps) low-cost head or body mounted telepresence solution and 2-way communication for remote guidance of multiple technical personnel from a central location staffed by an expert, currently using Skype videoconferencing and other collaboration tools such as Pointr, XMReality and soon TeamViewer. This allows relatively inexperienced technicians to work comfortably with both hands in real time (the smartphone is on the forearm) under the guidance of remote experts, located at the office or even retired personnel collaborating from their home. It gives remote eyes, ears, and speech at the site of an urgent matter or situation as if you were actually there, just like in the movie Avatar.
From a business perspective, it is costly and wasteful to deploy expensive experts to customer locations, when multiple younger technicians can be precisely and remotely guided. This system also allows the interactive sessions to be recorded and archived for future consultation, creating a valuable video knowledge base. And finally, collaborative telepresence may be a first step for teams to adopt new technologies that may be perceived to threaten their employment—a system in which two people are connected is much easier to assimilate.”
